Mastering The Art of Technique
Bethany Marc-Aurele brings a deep understanding of the human body’s connection to dance in all forms, believing that a solid foundation in ballet empowers dancers to excel across all genres. Ballet Marc-Aurele Coaching specializes in personalized ballet and PBT training, tailored for pre-professional dancers looking to elevate their craft and competitive dancers aiming to perfect their technique, artistry, strength, and endurance.
What sets this coaching apart is an innovative approach that integrates mind-body connection, injury prevention, and advanced alignment techniques into every lesson. By combining elements of Yoga, Pilates, and the Progressing Ballet Technique with her own alignment-centered techniques, Bethany crafts a training experience that goes beyond the basics. The result is a transformative journey where dancers refine their skills and develop a profound, instinctive connection to their art.
Bethany Marc-Aurele began her ballet training at the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Central Wisconsin School of Ballet. She was later accepted into The Alvin Ailey School in New York City as a full-time, full-scholarship student under the direction of the renowned Judith Jamison. Her performance career includes work with companies such as Ballet Chicago, North Shore Ballet, Alvin Ailey Youth, and Amelie Dance Theater, as well as several off-Broadway productions in New York City.
Bethany is a certified teacher with the American Ballet Theater (ABT) and Level 1-2 certified in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT). She is also a certified Megaformer instructor and remains dedicated to advancing her expertise through ongoing professional development. Her training includes studies at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and with renowned dance physiotherapist Lisa Howell. Currently, Bethany is pursuing a six-month certification program under Lisa Howell, focusing on injury prevention, rehabilitation, safe training practices, anatomy, and kinesiology. With over 20 years of experience in dance education, she has choreographed, coached, adjudicated, and directed classical and multidisciplinary programs across the nation and internationally, committed to developing technically skilled, resilient, and versatile dancers.
In 2007, she founded Hudson Dance & Movement, followed by Hudson Ballet, a nonprofit ballet company located in Hoboken, NJ for children ages 8-14, in 2012. The program also provided scholarships for underprivileged children, offering them access to high-level ballet training. That same year, she was featured on the cover of Dance Teacher Magazine as one of the top studio owners under 40. Many of her students have gone on to train at prestigious institutions, including Ballet Academy East, School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Gelsey Kirkland Academy, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, the Bolshoi Ballet Academy (CT), Marymount Manhattan College, Juilliard, New York University, University of South Carolina, Miami City Ballet, and the Royal Academy of Dance in London, among others.
After selling her highly successful school, Bethany now works with competition schools throughout the tri-state area as well as pre-professional dancers. She specializes in training students aiming to join professional dance companies, college programs, or dance teams, using her expertise to cultivate strong, technically proficient dancers ready for the next stage of their careers. She is currently the Ballet and PBT Director at THE VISION DANCE ALLIANCE in Middletown, NJ as well as a guest faculty member at THE SUSTEN DANCE COLLECTIVE.
